Welcome to MCCB!

MCCB

The Missoula Community Concert Band is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting and performing concert band music in the Western Montana area.

We are open to all adults who play (or are interested in playing) wind and percussion instruments.

After rehearsing once a week for about 2 months, we present our music in a free public concert. There are two concert seasons per year - in the fall and spring - which feature guest conductors, and a wide range of concert band music.

The Missoula Community Concert Band is now in its 22nd year, and has performed almost 50 concerts in Missoula and the surrounding area.

Spring 2014 Concert Details

The Missoula Community Concert Band invites everyone to its Spring 2014 Concert on Monday, March 31, 2014, at 7:30 PM.

The concert will take place at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts, 200 N. Adams, Missoula, Montana.

There is no admission charge.

At the conclusion of the concert, free refreshments will be served. The auditorium will be opened for advanced seating at 7:15 PM.

The band’s conductor, Deb Nelson-Rosbarsky, has selected music ranging from The Iliad, an evocative musical treatment of stories from past millennia, through marches composed in the quite different American and European march traditions. Highlights of the evening will be performances of music by two Missoula composers, Dr. Donald O. Johnston and Dr. James Eversole, both former faculty members at the University of Montana School of Music.

The band has had a great time preparing the program. We hope you’ll join us on Monday,

March 31, at the MCT Center for the Performing Arts.

The concert marks the band’s return to Hellgate Auditorium. “Hellgate Auditorium will give our audience hundreds of extra seats,” said Thomas Trigg, the band’s president. “That and the auditorium’s wonderful acoustics should make for a memorable concert.”

The band’s guest conductor, Dylan Dwyer, has selected a program ranging from selections from Leonard Bernstein’s great score for Candide through Eric Whitacre’s own arrangement of one of his well-respected choral compositions.
